Learn how to create master calibration frames in Astro Pixel Processor (APP) software.
This is the second in a series of videos on how to get the best out of the new APP software. You can download and try out Astro Pixel Processor from their website. See the first in the series for an introduction to Astro Pixel Processor, here!
This second video looks at how to create master calibration frames in APP – bias, flats and darks – so that you can really get the best out of your data. Uncalibrated data will give you all sorts of extra issues to deal with such as hot pixels, electronic read noise and vignetting (dark corners and a light circular centre). So, learn to use calibration to make the most of your hard won-data to improve your astro images.
